news of note
it's been forever since i posted here. or anywhere. or really even found time for emails or phone calls. mostly i work a lot and then crash. work a lot and then crash.
work.

and.

somewhere in there i get sunburns and go swimming, get mosquito bites and drink beer.
otherwise there's not much noteworthy news but here's what there is of it:
1. go see Broken English. such a great unsentimental movie about love. i saw it at the film festival here and it's amazing! so well written and parker posey is stellar in it. i never knew she could be so good. plus zoe cassavetes has saved me from the doom of having sofia coppola be the filmmaker who "speaks to my generation." fuck her and scar jo and kiki dunst. i will go see anything cassavetes makes for the rest of my life.
2. cigarette smoke does not scare away mosquitos.
3. i see john waters riding his bike all the time. it's funny. and this weekend i saw debra messing from will and grace looking like a fug mess and wheeling a baby carriage through town. i heard the last time she was here a friend of a friend sold her a glass dildo at the sex toy shop.
4. my back is fuuuuucccckkkked up. and when i say fucked up i mean fucked up. i'm paying some ridiculous sum of money for a massage on wednesday because this stretching and heating pad business isn't working and is way too time consuming.
5. deadwood season 3 is now available on dvd!
6. i miss a lot of people. would kill to kiss on rob, have a barney's burger with katie, go cupcake shopping with kaya while she's on summer break, sit out front of the bookstore with clay, drink beers with jeff, lay on kalem's bed while she gets ready, visit peter in the shack, chat with jen while spider spazzes out, sit with elka and ozzie in the backyard, mail kitchen sink, among many other misses.
7. yes, i saw the end of the sopranos.
8. i qualified for a perkins loan! only 5% interest rate with a 9 month post-graduation grace period! don't know for how much yet but anything i can trim off that 8.5% loan is better than nothing.
9. i'm a pretty good waitress. who knew!
10. harry potter movie 5 and book 7!!! within a two week period! finally, it will be done and i can have my life back!
