Marc Jacobs Cut The Crap and His Hair
Hooray!
It's official: The Marc Jacobs Fall 2007 line is beautiful.
It's such a relief. His spring 2007 collection was awful, awful, awful. Stuff that looked like a kindergarten class had created it after being given huge spools of green felted wool and scrap fabrics from a prom/bridal dress shop.
And the Marc by Marc Jacobs show had only been slightly less offensive.
It's exciting to see him make proper clothing again, not just garments.
These pieces are really great. They look like an updated version of something Jean Rhys would've worn. Very '30s inspired but still packing his classic color punch.
On the other hand, what is this horrid crap
Caroline Herrera is making. Uggghhh.
Looks like jackets made from dead opossums
that've been repeatedly runover
on the side of the freeway.
And just to close on an up note, Kim Gordon at Fashion Week. Can I say again how rad she is?

that is awesome. And funnily enough, I am going to see Sonic Youth here in PVD very soon. woo!
i saw kim gordon once and stepped forward to tell her how rad she was, but i fell on the floor on my face and she stepped over me. i peed a little. this place where it happened—i can never go back.

i'm so sad i didn't get to see them on this tour but they only played a show opening for pearl jam and another that sold out before i even heard about it.
i bet it will be great, you'll have to give me a rundown.
Pearl Jam! ugh are they still around? And people pay? *shudder*
I think Rather Ripped is great! We will see if they bother to play any real songs at the show though. You know how those nutty NYC noisy types can be live...
